SMILEY vs MOVIESTYLE 16x DVD-R

SMILEY MCC03RG20
Media Type 16X DVD-R

MOVIESTYLE TTH02
Media Type 16X DVD-R

Overview
For my next test in this series I have chosen two of the Budget range of 16x speed DVD-R Media. The SMILEY face with the MCC03RG20 mid and the MovieStyle with the TTH02 mid which is marketed under the 01ne brand name.
These are both Budget media types that can be picked up at bargain prices. Are they worth it?

Under The Microscope
The drives I am using in this test are the most common ones most of you are using.
If you are not sure about your drive try and buy a sample disc pack from one of the online retailers or ask your local shop if they can sell them individually just to be sure.
A recording has been made on each of the drives with Nero C D/DVD Speed burn ISO mode and a burn speed graph is obtained and then tested with the DVDInfoPro Testing software who's files dvd-recordable is proud to host.

If you click on the image of the relevant drive below the graphs will come up in a popup window.

Conclusion
The SMILEY wins hands down in this test and although there are a few disappointing scans most of the media is usable and out of my tests I only had two discs that I would reject. As budget media these discs IMO represent value for money
If you want a budget disc then you won't go far wrong with these but you need to be selective depending which burner you are using and if you are not sure just buy a single tub & try them with your drive, after all it will not break the bank.
